  • REPLACEMENT WATER FILTER PENTEK C2 5 ″

This carbon-impregnated Pentek C2 cellulose filter cartridge reduces fine sediments, taste and odor of chlorine in domestic drinking water.

It has a nominal filtration score of 5 microns with an efficiency of 85%.

The filter will reduce the available free chlorine (FAC) to 2 parts per million (ppm) by at least 75% up to 1,250 gallons at a flow rate of 0.5 gallons per minute (gpm). The cartridge is made of cellulose media impregnated with activated carbon powder (PAC), with a polyester base and an outer polyethylene mesh for durability.

It has an initial pressure drop of 1 pound per square inch (psi) at a flow rate of 5 gallons per minute (gpm) and operates in the temperature range of 40 to 125 degrees F (4.4 to 51.7 degrees C). This filter cartridge is intended for use in domestic drinking water treatment.
    STANDARDS
    Nominal filtration name 5 microns
Initial pressure drop to 2 gpm 2 psi
Chlorine reduction capacity 1,250 gallons at 0.5 gpm
    Operating temperature range 40 to 125 degrees F (4.4 to 51.7 degrees C)
    Maximum dimensions (H x W) 4-78 x 2-1 / 2 inches (124 x 64 mm)
The nominal degree of filtration is for a particle removal efficiency of 85%. Chlorine reduction capacity is the minimum total amount of water for which free chlorine (FAC) at 2 ppm is reduced by at least 50%.
H is the height, the vertical distance from the lowest to the highest point. W is the width, the horizontal distance from left to right. D is the depth, the horizontal distance from front to back.

    INFORMATION
Water filters remove unwanted particles, chemicals and microorganisms from the water through a semi-permeable barrier, adsorption or biological processes.

They are made of densely packed synthetic or natural fibers that trap suspended particles, germ-blocking materials or absorb unwanted chemicals or chemical altering agents, such as acid neutralizers.

For most domestic, commercial and industrial applications, water filters are manufactured in the form of spare cartridges that fit in permanent housings. Filtration systems typically consist of a series of two or more types of filters, each designed to remove different contaminants.

The efficiency of the filters is measured by the minimum particle size that is blocked, the percentage of particles or microorganisms that are removed, the downward concentration of unwanted chemicals, the maximum flow rate and the amount of water that can be filtered before the filter is replaced.

Water filters are used in a wide range of applications, such as drinking water treatment, swimming pools, industrial processes and irrigation, among others.
Pentair manufactures components and systems for water filtration for industrial, commercial and domestic use. Founded in 1966 and headquartered in Minneapolis, MN, the company meets the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) standards 9001 and 14001 for quality assurance.

NSF certification certified by NSF International and NSF / ANSI Standard 42.
